The 5C follows right along with Apple's previous pricing scheme, just in a different form factor.

Yup...Apple themselves claimed the 5C to be a budget phone. So while it fits their previous pricing scheme...they never marketed a previous phone as a "budget phone"....
In fact this "budget" phone is over $700 in China...should fit nicely in their budget... rolleyes.gif

Dude, no matter how you slice it. these 2 phones are really over priced and over hyped. iPhones are like the Corvettes from th 1980s...people bought them because of the name and they really didn't offer much over the competition.

Now every over the hill adult will own a colored iPhone that they really have no clue how to use. They will approach me and say "I didn't know the new iPhone came in yellow" as they stare at my L920. Cant wait doh.gif

Then in 2014 when Apple makes a 4.5" iPhone...ALL the iPhone fanboys will somehow try to convince everyone that they wanted a bigger screen all along, somehow trying to disprove that half the NSA database is full of Apple forums entitled "3.5in is big enough"

Apple claimed it was a budget phone but never marketed it as one? Okay. And I really couldn't care less if any phone fits any person's budget in China. Neither should you...?

They don't cost a significant amount more than any other high end cell phone. They're not overpriced.

So you're really upset that more people will own an iPhone.

I think most people with a 4" iPhone are satisfied with the size, but wouldn't mind a larger screen if Apple can do it in such a way that doesn't result in something as monstrous as all the Samsung phones. I personally would like a larger screen phone, but I'm not going to give up iOS, all my apps, all my AirPlay enabled gear, etc JUST for a larger screen. Some of us have priorities in devices beyond screen real estate....something people like you just don't seem to get.

How is the iPhone 5s overpriced? It's one of the best phones on the market and priced accordingly, just like every high end android device.

The iPhone 5c, however, is DEFINITELY overpriced. It is pretty obvious what apple wants to do here: essentially sell lasts years specs in a much cheaper build in order to lower operating costs and increase revenue. Now, instead of having to continue make expensive iPhone 5 aluminium cases and sell them for cheaper, they can just make cheap plastic cases and sell for the same cost. Smart move by them (since I'm sure people will be enamored by these new "cool colors"), but way to expensive for essentially an iPhone 5 without the good looking/aluminium exterior.

The hilarious is part is most carriers charge more for other premium phones such as the Galaxy S4. But everyone will say Apple is overpriced. What-ev. I don't think the 5S is overpriced at all in comparison to other premium phones. The 5C probably is, though.

The only cheap premium phones are windows phones because well, windows phone. They can't sell them regardless of the price.

It has little to nothing to do with the OS as Android and iOS have vastly different JS implementations.

This benchmark isn't available for WP AFAIK

Last I checked 3DMark doesn't run on Windows Phone. Just RT for mobile.

Not everyone cares to drop big bucks for a camera when a smartphone servers more than admirably nowadays. The dual flash is huge for smartphone photography and can only help.

How did they managed to get the same score, or actually slow down a tiny bit (probably margin of error) with new phones? Guess that "apple optimization" doesn't actually work in the real world...

And what happened here?

It's a big benefit for those who may take a photography to another level other than just snapshots and selfies. Not everyone likes to carry around their DSLR. Some may have a more pocketable camera, but this a big leap in cell phone cameras if you really need to get a shot. Plus the iPhone 4 and up have a more than decent camera phone.

This is just better overall. Even then there's been other solutions to those terrible LED flash. There's a couple of external ones that sync to your phone wirelessly or use the 3.5mm jack.
