[OFFICIAL] 775 to 771 mod Club! - Page 18

Hi guys, just got my "new" e5450 up and running on my GA-EP43-UD3L (bios F6 recognized with no issues) a few hours ago.

I had been lurking auction sites the past few months looking for a cheap upgrade from my LGA 775 + dual core build in the form of LGA 1156 or 1155 + quad core but with no luck. Wandered across this wonderful mod last week and promptly ordered an adapter plus a SLBBM e5450. It was a little nerve wracking operating on my main computer's socket. The pictures on the delidded website don't really capture just how small the distance is between the plastic tabs and the fragile motherboard pins but some careful work with a razor blade did the trick.

As for performance, I've got the processor up to 3690mhz at 1.318v (don't mind CPU-Z's reading). Prime95 hasn't ran long enough to determine if it's stable or not yet but things are looking good. Max temp on the maximum heat/power consumption setting in prime95 has been 70C though core temps 1-4 have typically been around 67/60/61/62. Heatsink is ZALMAN FS-C77.

This is a pretty awesome mod and should give my aged computer a few more years! thumb.gif

Hi guys!

I have this MB:

Asus P5KPL SE (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5KPL_SE/#specifications)

and I found this processor for 30 bucs:
Intel xeon e5405 (http://ark.intel.com/products/33079/intel-xeon-processor-e5405-12m-cache-2_00-ghz-1333-mhz-fsb)

Are they ccompatible? I think that they are but what u think??

Hot! At 320k fft, maximum core temps are hitting 79 79 73 73C.

Hmm guys, I found a very cheap E5410 and I'm running P5Q3 Deluxe with Q6600 at 3,6-4,0 Ghz.... As far as I see the E5410's multiplier is 7 and FSB of 333 Mhz. Since you are much more informed, how far can I get if it's a lucky chip? Is it possible to run at ~500 Mhz FSB?

If the chip can take it then you can get the FSB on it pretty high.

So you're saying if it's possible if it's a lucky chip? I'm thinking to buy it, it's very cheap anyway.

What is your max stable FSB currently, FSB * 7 = max theoretical speed you might achieve with the E5410, I tried to look for more info about how far these can overclock but info is limited, but my guess is with good cooling and the FSB for your 4 GHz validation (444 FSB) you might get 3.1 GHz. So if I were you I would rather get a E5450 with 9x multiplier. 9 * 444 = 4 GHz biggrin.gif

The man only sells his E5410, I know E5450 is much better. I am running my Q6600 at 450 FSB at the moment without any issues. I can hit 500 FSB as well but you know Q6600 is different than other Quads that are 45nm so I don't know is my FSB going to be higher or lower with them. I haven't got 45nm Dual or Quad core CPU on my hands yet.
