I have L5410 and they are very similar. Diferences are in lower power for L series. They can OC easily, mine is on 2.33 MHz and I try liltle to OC up to 3.0... In specks they said that limit for mine CPU is 3.8MHz (do the math ans you will see preliminary picture).
OC 20-25% is safe without any problems, u can go up to 30+% but with some junk boards u just cant do that. They are very stabile and good CPUs.
My advice is to go with small increment, youll see the limit of overclocing by stability of ur sistem. When I go insanely up to 35% my sistem just cant handle it, so I set on 25%-results=beast! GL!

@cammiso94

I have a Xeon L5430 in my GA-G41MT-D3 (rev. 1.3) all features are enabled after modding the original bios and adding CPU Microcodes for the L5430 (1067a) processor. The processor is very stable, runs c.10 Deg C cooler than the Core 2 Duo E8600 'Golden Batch' CPU it replaced. See below cat /proc/cpuinfo:

If anyone is interested or has any comments if it actually fits, I was looking at AIO water coolers for my 775 board and it looks like the older models of the cosair AIO coolers support a 775 block. I have the old H100 lying around to test when I get home this evening to see if it fits on my 775 board.

Not sure what info you need. I do not use windows. New to OC world. I have already posted my setup and /proc/cpuinfo for my Xeon L5430 in my GA-G41MT-D3 (rev. 1.3) .

After install I ran burnP6 x 4 to max out all 4 cores for 24 hours. Ran no problem, with no issues. It was also still running as my MythTV Server with 2 x Sat card. CPu Case Temp never went over 35 Deg C.

For those of us in the UK you might want to add this link for adaptors that work perfectly and arrive within a couple of days.

X5460 (E0 SLBBA) @ 4GHz in my HTPC with an old Gigabyte EP35-DS3l mobo running F6 bios (not modded). I am very pleased with this cpu. I pulled out an E8500 that I had running at 4.27GHz and this Xeon benchmarked the same or slightly faster at stock speeds. I'm thinking that my GTX460 is the limiting factor cause even now at 4GHz my benchmarks barely got any better compared to the stock 3.16GHz I tested before. 3DMark was the only benchmark that improved a decent amount from 3.16 to 4GHz. Either way it was well worth the $55 I spent on it. thumb.gif

Hyper 212. Max load temps after running 3DMark Vantage were only 47C. This mobo seems to need a lot of Vcore to OC quad cores. I'm at 1.36 in the Bios (1.31 in Windows) for this Xeon at 4GHz. The E8500 only needed 1.26v to hit 4.27GHz. I just bought 2 more X5460's (E0's) to drop in mine and my son's Gigabyte P45-UD3P's biggrin.gif Should be alot more fun in that mobo thumb.gif
