[MSN] 'Star Trek' inspired NSA Director Keith B. Alexander's command center - Page 2

Other than the 'Captain's Chair' most of the room's layout and design seems like it would make an efficient and functional command center.

The big screen is just a projection screen (read: projector), and considering that the room seems to have a huge meeting table in the center of it, that makes perfect sense. The commander's chair and accompanying metals might've been a bit of a waste, but if it was just fancy design (with no chair) no one would have said anything.

...And this.

People want to start a frenzy when they see this, but anyone ever seen a "glass house" CNC? I've seen fancier, and that was just on a regular ol' military base...

Thanks - T

I'm sure that cost a ton of taxpayer money for them to play Star Trek in while they are supposed to be working for our country.

To be honest this is more of "Inspired by", than anything else. It's not even close to a replica. the original post by not including the one to one comparison makes it seem like the picture the Govt built was an exact replica and presented in the OP.

To the OP, I don't want to click every source link I see. I get enough click/ad farming as it is from other sites. It's also the reason for the normal process of showing relevant pictures in the OP and in this case a side by side comparison would have been highly relevant. 2cents.gif

Anyone else put off by the name of the room? The Information Dominance Center?

In any event, they should call it by it's technical name: The Superbowl Viewing Arena.

Yes its very 'overlords' watching your every move. But instead of geeks its like giving a middle manager the keys to the city and every camera.. not a good idea
