Attention anyone who has owned a Corsair K70

Hi all,

Just bought a k800 for gaming and I hate it. I just can't get the feel of the super thin keys and miss my old keyboard already. I've decided that I want to get a mechanical keyboard and have really been eyeing the K70.

Now I want to ask, does the K70 have a way to detatch the cord from the keyboard itself? This would make it much easier for me to move it between my two monitors on my L shaped desk (have my 42" TV on one side and my gaming 144hz monitor on the other and like to use the same keyboard/mouse for both so I need to easily switch between the two)

If I have to move my keyboard around it would be much easier to detach it from the keyboard rather than the back of the computer.

If it doesnt is there any mechanical keyboard that can do that?

Also which connection is preferable, USB or PS/2?

I use the K95 which is effectively the same keyboard, except with macro switches.

No, there is no way to detach the cable - it would need to plugged in, and unplugged from the computer itself.

As for USB or PS/2 ...

Technically the PS/2 is faster, because the CPU is not being asked to detect input from the USB signal, but it wouldn't be noticeable. Modern keyboards function perfectly well via USB, and the K70 has next-to-full n-key rollover via USB, so there is no practical reason to worry about PS/2.

Edit:

You may want to take a look at the Coolermaster mechanical keyboards. They feature detachable mini-usb cords, are well priced and perfectly good mechanical keyboards.
