I think my water pump is on its last legs...?

Thread Starter
Over the past few weeks, I've been noticing my water pump has been making more noise than usual. It started with a slight whirring noise and lately it's turned into a loud clicking/clacking noise to the point where it's extremely loud and disruptive. I'm not really sure what to do but I'm preparing to get it replaced as I have a feeling it's going to stop soon. Thoughts?

This is the pump: http://www.dazmode.com/store/product/dazmode_storm_d5_strong_8-24v_pump/

My last pump died on me as well and I've only had this for about 15 months so I'm a little disappointed. Might move back to air cooling =(

Thx

The only thing to wear out is the ceramic bearing or the impeller where it sits on the bearing. It should last a lot longer than 15 months so something's not right if it is the bearing that's worn out in such a brief time. What fluids are you using in your loop?

Are any air bubbles getting into the pump? That makes a sound like pumping gravel.

Check that your res is topped up.
