Asus VG278HE Calibration settings needed!

Hi all,

Getting my VG278HE today and plan on using it at 120hz with lightboost enabled at all times. I want a good calibration for this monitor before and after lightboost is enabled to at least have as close to IPS quality as possible.

Anyone have any color calibrations to share?

The calibration is different for LightBoost versus non-LightBoost.

Quoting some recommended basic calibration settings from the LightBoost FAQ to fix the LightBoost gamma bleaching effect:
Quote:
nVidia Control Panel Desktop Brightness = 52%
nVidia Control Panel Desktop Contrast = 45%
nVidia Control Panel Desktop Gamma = 0.70

There are other further picture adjustments recommended, but this is the biggie (fixing the LightBoost gamma bump).

I use ATI cards. Would this be the same in CCC?

I was tweaking CCC settings yesterday and I couldn't find a good compromise.

NV control panel and CCC are quite different with the sliders etc, and I couldn't find a gamma setting.

As a rule of thumb to undo the LightBoost gamma bleaching effect, you need to:
-- Lower gamma a bit from "default" setting. (nVidia went from 1.0 down to 0.7)
-- You may need to decrease Control Panel contrast ever so slightly (nVidia went down from 0.50 to 0.45)
-- Keep saturation untouched. The above two adjustments, done properly, will increase LightBoost color saturation while being slightly darker.

This fits the gamut into Lagom Contrast and Lagom Black Levels, without clipping, at www.lagom.nl/lcd-test

Anyone know what setting constitutes gamma in CCC as I see no setting for it?

Sorry I'm an idiot when it comes to calibration.
