Confused about fx 6300 temps - Page 2

With a stock cooler though, I would only stress test with stock clock. That's what I did, and it still skyrocketed. (Granted, I was Prime95 stress testing.)

A cheap, most recommended cooler like a Hyper 212 dropped my temps considerably COMPARED to stock cooling. If you have a few bucks lying around (so to speak), look around for a decent cooler for that quieter and cooler operation, and for that peace of mind. If you have more spare cash, and plan to overclock more, check if your motherboard can hold a decent overclock and invest in a more awesome cooler. thumb.gif

i have the following configuration, and i wish to would it be safe to overclock as the board does not have heat sinks.

fx 6300
asus m5a97 le r2.0
kingston hyperx 1600 mhz 8 gb
zebronics 500 watt psu
ati hd 6770.

I'm planning to oc till 4.o ghz at the lowest temp possible and as i'm planning to bring cm 212 evo to the party as the stock cooler is loudly inadequate. also does my psu would support a gtx 650 ti boost graphics card? if you need more info do letme know. here's pic of core temp at evrything STOCK.
