Time For an Upgrade ! Need inputs and suggestions :)

Thread Starter
so i basically built this rig since 2010. its almost 4 years now and i feel like it needs to be upgraded. I would be using it mainly for just gaming and multitasking with 3 monitors.

Mobo: Asus rampage iii extreme
CPU: Intel i7-950
GPU: HD radeon 7990 (recently upgraded from GTX 580)
Ram: 6gb
PSU: corsair TX 950W
Monitors: 3x Benq XL2420T running Eyefinity (currently could not play bf3 with decent fps on eyefinity. suspecting the low ram.

Here is what im thinking to upgrade to.

Mobo: Asus rampage iv extreme
CPU: intel i7-4930k
Ram: 32 gb of ram (need help as to which ram to buy. looking at corsair dominator platinum)
PSU: upgrade to AX1200i??? or should i just stick with my 950W

all suggestions are welcomed thanks!!

There is a Rampage IV Black Edition on the way

And the AX1200i is overkill and a waste of money

You dont need more then 550 watts for a sytem with one video card

750 watts for two cards

You could keep your old PSU nothing wrong with it other then its old

Oh almost forgot if you do go with the Rampage IV Extreme you need to update the BIOS before you can use a 4930K

You can run your 3 monitors off one video card?

Go Pats! Hope our rookies get their heads on straight.

Its more of an overclocking board then a gaming board

You sould look at the brand new Gigabyte Assassin 3

And no its not out yet so you cant find it but it will be soon

Or you could just go with a Rampage IV Formula

But if you want a gaming PC why not go with LGA 1150 clock for clock Haswell are faster in gaming then Sandy-E or Ivy-E is
