USB Sound Options

Yes I know the general consensus is USB sound is no good and I am not arguing that. I have two systems I am looking at get better sound on using some good headphones. The issue is both are ITX and thus have no slot for adding a sound card. Is the an external USB sound option that will work of should I use onboard sound with the heaphones or stay with the current USB headsets?

What kind of budget do you have? This Fiio E10 is good from what I hear. I'm planning on getting it when I have money because I have an itx sytem too.

Gonna have to check that out.... I figure up to $100, same as a good audio card.

If you don't mind going a little over, Sabre Tiny ($35) or Behringer UCA202 ($35) + Schiit Magni ($100). Quality of the amp is much better than the E10.

Since when was the general consensus that usb sound isn't good? Most higher end dacs go through usb. wink.gif

I do recommend a fiio e10, especially if you can find one for cheap, get one used if you dont mind. Cheap yet good dac/amp combo.

I have been using mine for months now and just today I switched my headphones to integrated audio and it was absolutely miserable for the minute I tried it.

What headphones are you using in the first place? Doesn't make much sense to spend 100 dollars on a dac or amp if you are using bad headphones.
