I bought a Sony svs-1511l3es (640m le) in April and intended to overclock it with a bios mod, but a much easier method using Nvidia inspector was discovered so I now game with 1000 core 975 mem instead of 500/900. Need less to say that really saves my gaming. It only have a dual core at 2.5/3.1 and the 22.5-27 FPS avg. I get is not really enough for multilayer. But i have learned a lot about optimizing settings in games. Can't use much if any AA.
Watching temp is even more important in laptops. I have been very lucky with min, it has very good TIM
so I get max 74c on GPU 76c on CPU. I had to reduce max CPU speed to 90 though. It is only some games that are that bad.
I admit there are risk's, my PC died in march because I tried to under clock it.
I should not have pressed clear bios button with power on PC .
I can afford to by a new one if my laptop brakes, but it would be very difficult emotionally.
EDIT: You need to check whether the laptop you want to buy, can be overclocked or not.
