BFG GTX 285 randomly died

Thread Starter
I have had a gtx 285 SLI set up. One EVGA and one BFG. I was playing D3 and then all of a sudden my whole PC locked up. I rebooted and first thing I noticed was that my secondary monitor wasn't working. After start up, my PC was installing drivers for my 285, and NVIDIA experience popped up telling me something about hardware changes. I thought that was odd, so I loaded up NVIDIA control panel and I noticed there was no SLI option tab anymore. I opened up my case and I see that my BFG card's fan wasn't spinning. I powered off and then I took out my EVGA card to do a single card test on the BFG. GPU wouldn't power on, nada. I took the card out and inspected the back side, I don't see any blown fuses. I take off the heatsink, inspect, nothing again, everything seems fine.

Any one have any ideas on what went wrong? Am I SOL? I miss having the SLI set up frown.gif

well the 285 is an old, old card.. i am surprised it lasted this long under gaming. I think it just died like any old card.

There are older cards that still function. Sounds to me like it would be worth baking it though.
