The Cooler Master VS is still far better value for money then the RM

I wont claim its better then the RM when i dont know how the RM does

Anyway, I don't know anything about the RM series, but, Corsair seems to be placing in between the HX and TX series. Visit their site and then mouseover the Products menu. Look at the list of the "Power Supply Units". It goes like this:

AX Series
HX Series
RM Series
TX Series
GS Series
CX Series
VS Series

That's how I see it too: the CX and the VS are their worst, the GS series isn't bad (per se), and starting with the TX on up, it's truly "enthusiast class".

The RM will replace the TX is what i have heard not fit in between the TX and HX

Think the CS will replace the CX as well

I couldn't find the coolermaster anywhere in the UK.
I've spoke to Novatech to ask if they'll order me in the seasonic or the RM so I'm just waiting for an email back now hopefully they'll include prices too.

I'm sure they're good power supplies but I'd rather have a 80+ gold modular PSU, I'm thinking I might go for a 550W G-series or RM to give me some good headroom for possible future upgrades

If you want modular 80 plus gold and very quiet how about this?

http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/powersupplies/bn200.html

100% coil whine and fan noise free

Its a bit higher priced then the RM but its also a higher class of PSU

Or this one
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/fd-psu-nt3b-600w.html

Which is 80 plus Platinum

If I may ask (and please forgive me for asking), why do you want a Gold-rated PSU?

If this seems like a dumb question that has an obvious answer, then I have to ask for your forgiveness again because you'd be surprised why some people want Gold-rated or Platinum, or this or that.

I don't mind you asking lol ask anything you want.
Well my thinking was that this time round, instead of buying a budget PSU, I'd buy the best quality PSU I can afford to avoid having to change it again in the next 2 years or so.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but to me in my eyes that warrants buying a gold rated powersupply.

You could also look at the fairly extensive Super Flower range available on Amazon they have a number of gold rated PSU's at reasonable prices. Perhaps shilka or Two Cables would be kind enough to tell you which are made by the best OEM's.
