So have any of you all ever tried the nail polish trick? Does that even work on these cards with solid chokes?

That's for coils where the coil itself is out in the open. You'd glue everything together, trying to suppress the vibrations that create the sound. Whatever's making the sound on a graphics card or motherboard is packaged inside a tiny cylinder or box, so the glue won't do anything.

I had the same card as OP which did the same exact thing...the ringing in my ears drove me nuts. I kept it about 4 days before I sent it back to Newegg. Thankfully the return went smoothly and they were OOS so I go a full refund. I was going to get a reference 7990 and still might depending on how the new AMD cards perform. It was tough going back to my GTX 580 after having the 7990 though. Hope you get it worked out OP, I have felt your pain.

Appreciate the comment. I saw how newegg din't have any more as well, and since I still wanted the card, I rma'd with powercolor like a dumbass and that did me no good. Gonna plead with newegg and see if they will still allow me to rma even out of the 30 day period.
