I would wait until your budget goes up. I just purchased a 4770k and Asus Maximus Hero board for $491 including tax @ microcenter.

I came from a i7 920 D0 @ 4.5Ghz and i'll tell you the 4770k is barley stable at 4.5ghz @1.35v. Performance is 5%-10% better over the 920.

In the end result I am not very satisfied with the 4770k, I would save up for a 4930k and a good motherboard. I been thinking of returning this setup and going that route myself.

Uh, a 4.5Ghz 920!?! Wow! Nice. Yeah, i'm still hangin on to my 920. My one chip I just pulled today will do 4.1GHz. Trying out my main rig 920. I replaced the main rig with a Xeon 5639. 90$ for a 6 core, 32nm Xeon. It's a great deal and a beast if overclocked.
