Creative sound card audio stutter.

Thread Starter
It's only been a dew months, and I'm so sad because my sound is all bugged out! I have a Sound Blaster Z, and even after a driver update, my sound from the card frequently "stutters". The thing is, it only happens after the computer is woken from sleep mode for the third time, or sometimes on restart. I doubt it's a memory issue seeing how the fresh install did not work. Any thoughts guys?

Try disabling any unused hardware and use DPCLAT to check your audio latency.

Yeah, grab DPC Latency checker from here: http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml Run it when the crackling is happening.

Well, somehow I fixed it. My optical port was either bad on the speakers, or the cable connections were dusty. Either way it works great now. Not sure how dust can get inside the connection like that.
