EVGA GTX 770 Classified 4GB and HAF X case

Would the EVGA GTX770 Classified 4GB fit in the Cooler Master HAF X case? The card is huge and I know there is no way it is going to fit in my current case.

You should have a few inches of clearance with the HAF X and 770 Classified.

The max GPU length in the HAF X is 13.5".
The 770 Classy is 10.5" long.

It's actually 11" long, but it should still fit. Most of the descriptions online are incorrectly listing it as 10.5" though. They tend to list the power requirements incorrectly in most descriptions as well by saying it takes 1 8-pin and 1 6-pin adapter when it actually requires 2 8-pin power adapters.

You're right, the EVGA Spec Sheet shows 11"

Either way, there's well over 2" of clearance for the GPU.

I'm glad I bought the case because I installed in my old case last night to make sure it worked and it barely fit. I'm getting the new case today and I know it wil be a better fit

Hey chad125,

I am allready using the HAF X and I want to buy the 770 Classified. Did you have to remove the 120mm fan to fit in the 770 Classified to the case?

THX 4 your reply

greetings

I know I am a little late to the discussion but I have 2 770 classified ACX cooled cards in a Coolermaster HAF 922 case and length is not the problem with these classified cards. The problem lies with the width of the cards since they are over 1.5 inches wider then the PCI bracket. If you lay a EVGA classified 770 on top of a EVGA superclocked card the classified card is over 1.5" wider then the superclocked card that is only as wide as the PCI mounting bracket. This is to accommodate the extra heatpipe and corresponding fins around that extra heatpipe. On top of that you have the 2 8 pin power connectors that are mounted facing the side panel, making the height of the card from the motherboard to the side panel a issue on a good # of cases especially if you have side panel mounted fans.

Luckily My 3.3year old Coolermaster HAF922 case fits the cards even with 2 Cougar Vortex 120mm fans in the side panel blowing air onto the cards and motherboard components.

Another good feature of the EVGA cards with ACX cooling is that they only take up 2 slots inside the case. Not like most cards with heavy duty air cooling that take up 3 slots like the Asus DT cards or 2 1/2 slots like other extra high end air coolers.

I love my HAF922 for the $89 I paid for it it has fantastic cooling with a 120mm bottom intake or exhaust fan"mine is a intake,a front 200mm intake fan, a top 200mm intake or exhaust fan/or 2 120mm fans, and a 200mm side panel fan or 2 120mm side panel fans. Along with the industry standard rear 120mm ehaust fan near the IO plate. I have all my fans on intake but the 2 120mm cougar vortex fans in a push pull configuration on my 3.3yr old H-50 AIO water cooler that is mounted on the rear along with taping up all the front 5 1/2" bays that are not occupied to make it a positive pressure case forcing more air out through the h-50 cpu cooler and tx850 PSU.

Also my 2600k runs nice and cool at 4712mhz and 1.345v barely breaking 60c in the spring winter and fall. Summertime I have to lower it to 4500mhz @ 1.285v. But For a 3.3 year old CPU my 2600k is the best CPU I ever owned! Still gaming within 1-3% of any 3770k and 4770k on high graphical settings. It only on low graphics settings that the 3770k and 4770k with the 2600k and 3770k and 4770k all clocked at 4,5ghz.

Reading this article put a huge smile on my face...caresses side of case holding 2600k gem inside. My Precious smile.gif It compares all 3 generations of CPUs at stock speeds and overclocked to 4.5ghz.

If anyone with a gaming rig with a 2600k in it that racked up money on a credit card just to get a tiny performance increase I really feel for you. especially with the temps the 4770k runs at and the amount of chip degradation Haswell has because of the stupid internal voltage regulator on the chip itself. Its fine and dandy on a laptop chip, but it just does not make sense on a overclocking desktop board. I would have to say Haswell's internal voltage regulator makes the silicon lottery even harder to win along with taking away a lot of the benefit of having a really good overclocking MB since the difference between overclock speeds on all motherboards with Haswell is within 100mhz of each other where sandy and Ivy bridge could get 200-300mhz overclock differences with one motherboard over another.
If I was to build another gaming rig say for my my wife I would use a Ivy Bridge 3770k over Haswell in a split second. But if she wanted a laptop I would go with a haswell chip for that laptop. Unless I got a great price on a IVY laptop.
