Loop advise please

Thread Starter
Just picked up the ROG Maximus V Formula and I want to incorporate its factory WB in my loop. The barbs are 3/8 and non-replaceable. My current loop is the CM 690 II Advanced with XSPC RX 240 in bottom, RS 240 in roof, Raystorm on 17 3770K delided at 4.7ghz, XSPC Razor GTX 680 WB and Monsoon bay res with d5 pump. All of my current barbs are 1/2 and I use 7/16 tubing. Flow is from res to RS 240 to CPU to GPU to RX 240 and back to res. My new flow plan would be the same except to place the MB's WB between CPU and GPU. However, I would need to use 3/8 barb on out port of raystorm and on the in port of the Razor. Alternatively, the res has 2 in and 2 out ports although there is a single pump and no division of the fluid in the res, so would it be better to leave my current loop as is and run the 3/8 from the res to MB WB and straight back to res bypassing the rads? I assume it would be ok since all of the water in the system is being cooled by the rads since there is no division in the res. Thoughts please and thanks.

Would be better to keep the loop as a single flowing setup unless you fully dedicated to dual loops.

Go with the change from CPU to MB block and then MB block to GPU.

The other way you would lose a lot of flow as water was diverted off to you sub loop.

In the setup I used I would've done it like:

RS240 → Res → Pump → CPU → MB → RS240 → GPU

It's just going to depend on your case size and how difficult it will be to route the tubing. I'd say go for:

Res → RS240 → CPU → MB → GPU → RS240

if it's much easier for you to route the tubing.
