Well given that I don't tend to run useless amounts of AA my weak cards get by running 4K but since I own both a Nvidia card as a AMD card with about the same power AMD definitly works better. (no it isn't a memory constraint on my 570 vs my 7850.)

Well to say they have no working multip gpu solution is a bit rubish MST can be used with eyefinity and CF the fact there is no frame pacing yet doesn't change a thing.
We might see hardware based frame metering but we will certainly see improved software based metering.

Can't ever really trust "leaked" benches ahead of a product launch as they almost always turn out to be BS but if true these numbers would have an awful lot of people on this forum eating their words (and you know who you are). Still, grain of salt and all that...

I figure the 280x being a rebrand of 7970.

Interesting.

Yes they did display edids not being supported, instable pixel clocks without reason and the 5xx series screwing up and crashing (i had that with Metro Last Light and a week later my gpu died)
I won't blame that on the drivers alone since 570 suffered from weak reference power design I now have a classified.

I want to believe

^^agreed ! worth adding though that these 'benches' (salt and all) come from the same source as the pics we have been looking at in this thread, so I assume they actually have a card to run benches with smile.gif

The R2D2 better not cost more than $600.

If the R2D2 is indeed a Titan killer, I'll probably grab some 7970s or 7950s for real cheap and under volt then for folding.

Oh and come on guys, I have a much better naming scheme:

9970 is R2D2
9950 is R2D2 LE

9870 is R2D1
9850 is R2D1 LE and so on

Dammit! I love this card. It reminds me of the unknown "level 5" spy's car you had to bring down in Taito Chase H.Q!
Whoosh! You have got to speed in excess of 300 km/s all the time, or else you are left behind.

Almost 80% faster than a 7970 on the same process? Seems optimistic.
