I could not verify anything because AMD is very quiet about their new release.
Just a temporary blower cooler, they'll ship a more elaborate cooling solutions when it actually gets released. Nice to see that it actually exists, though.
If it has a 512 bit bus, many here will have to eat their words.
That being said...Is it possible that it has 4gb on the front and 2gb on the back? I just can't make sense on how they would be able to fit 2,8k SP's, buffed up front and rear end AND a 512 bit bus
I am hoping that this card will put the hurt on nvidia big time. Compition needs to return to the high end gpu market. The day of reference x80 being 600+ needs to come to a end.
Unless amd plays the high price game and charges 700 if it beats a 780. Which wouldn't surprise me
7970's generally don't have a problem as is pushing 3gb as most can easily get 1600mhz+ out of the mem and 1200 on the core. With the improvements made (assuming this is true) I don't see an extra gb really making a huge deal of difference as to handling it. Now that said, that's when you look at games with high res textures and mods - a game on let's say Crysis 3's level or above that also needs 3gb+ ram is another story and it will struggle a bit more, just as a 780 or titan would.
Bare in mind, though assuming it is a 512bit bus, the memory clocks will probably be lower, too. I'm pulling roughly 308gb/s bandwidth with a 1600mhz mem clock as is on a 384bit bus - a 512bit bus can match that with far lower clocks.
Third-ed. Love me some matte black minimalistic cards. If this were to be the final reference coolers, I'd do my utmost best to hunt one down in the UK.
Where is alatar??? u will eat your words and u will end up buying a R9 290X
512-bit and 4gb memory FTW
