What I said is extremely common sense, that since the early leaks are very likely sourced to AMD Shills or AMD sanctioned data, then when it 'just' beats a stock Titan and when it 'just' beats a stock 780 (and it wasn't even clear it beat them, especially on those 'physics'+graphics mixed results), then it doesn't look good.

You brought a point that is a conspiracy theory at best. Not even in the same ball-park as fact; actually there aren't many hard facts at all in this thread... But at least people are making knowledgeable and educated speculation. Just stop. Let the big boys talk.
Sorry AMD

AMD use turboboost and nvidia uses their boost 2.0. It is a fair fight. Now on OC potential is a completely a different question. It completely is determined by the architecture and yields, etc.
Now if you are saying AMD is pushing for a higher TDP than nvidia and using more of their OC potential, it is possible, but with the focus on efficieny, unlikely. Remember how review sites bashed the 7970 GE's heat and power usage?

They claim to marginally beat the Titan, to marginally beat the 780 (and in some cases it doesn't even win), many of them show physics and not graphics in a misleading way (a longer bar for physics with the excuse the benchmark reports a bigger number for physics than it does for graphics), and while it is certain they talk about stock Titan and stock 780, it is also likely (though not certain) that they censor the AMD's name not to hide the name but to hide it's 'OC'.

I'm not sure if we're even looking at the same results anymore. Depending on the game, the R9 290X has from -5 to +5 fps compared to the Titan, though on average a few minor percent faster. As for the physics-score in 3dmark, that is CPU-dependant. That was the only physics-part I could find, the rest were pure 3d-rendering performance. And how can you be so sure the 780 and Titan were at stock clocks, while the R9 was overclocked? To me it seems like you're just drawing conclutions out of thin air.

Welp, if these are indeed 4GB @ 512, and perform like we hope/want/suspect/damn well better; there will be a couple of cheap 7970s on the OCN Marketl place soon™.

As for R2D2 beating Titan.....ehhhhh, I think that is a bit of a stretch goal/dream. Not entirely impossible, but very very unlikely. I imagine it will fall right at 780 or a little better, somewhere before Titan.

And their goes the neighborhood. Wouldnt it be something to have AMD on top? Nvidia would push the 800 series up and we would have an all out GPU war!!! This is especially good for consumers!

Conspiracy theory at best that the leaks that appeared exactly 3 days before an event may be AMD sanctioned? I have explicitly posted "may" and "likely" and other words clearly spelling out it isn't a fact, but don't tell me it's "at best" a conspiracy theory that they are very likely leaning towards supporting AMD because I'd call you "at best" a conspiracy theorist.

If it is actually 512 bit bus, than, yes, I retract what I said about it being under 780. It might be beat a stock titan, but I doubt it can beat a 1.2-1.3ghz titan OCed. I think it is possible for AMD to tap more of their OC rooms and hae a more aggressive boosting. As long as they keep the 250w TDP of the 7970, they should not get too much complaints from it. However, anything higher, it will be bashed like the 7970 GE TDP, and heat by reviewers.

Unlikely, 20nm is not ready until june 2014. They might do a full GK 110 or a 790. It might be a possible for a GM 104 on 28nm. Might.

Well, enjoy yours prices. AMD likes their profits too and can set prices quite close to NVidia.

TDP is looking to be a little over 250, which I honestly don't care either way. I have a 1250W Seasonic power supply on its way from Amazon right now, and TDP isn't much concern at the enthusiast level.

Heck, there are people running around with modded Titans and other cards blowing the factory TDP away, just to get crazy performance.
