That's clever thinking.
I'm not saying the Titan is a bad card, it is just not a smart buy for the price.
That's why fanboys are fanboys. People who defend stupid statements.

yea refuse to upgrade unless its a tangible benefit and some normal price range.

Too true, back when I had my coupe I remember spending 2k in one sitting easy on aftermarket parts, the titan hate is ridiculous. Flopper they took down the video frown.gif

Who are you to judge what is the right amount to spend? Titan is still tops and can't be matched by a lesser card. You are always going to pay more for the last few performance percentage increase. The Titan being overpriced is probably one of the most "beating a dead horse" subjects I have ever seen on OCN.

Isn't the 7990 faster than the Titan?

Actually cars are something totally different. When you buy cars you don't only look at specs VS price (or looks). It is about the feel. You can buy a $200.000 USD car that drivers 200mph+ and has carbon bodywork and have a lot of fun with it... but you can also get inside a $4.500 alfa romeo GTV tin can from 1974 and drive through a mountain road and have the ride of your life ---- http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars_for_sale/1974_Alfa+Romeo_GTV-6_205400801_11 ---- cars are really about passion, history, heritage, sentimental value. Videocards don't give you any feel besides rendering more or less fps.

7990 is cheaper and have more performance.
Still dont buy any of those cards.
Its amazing people can buy a card that you get 3 console gaming plattforms from or a good car.
even more my 7970 holds its own agaisnt such configurations anyhow.
best card I own.

Again, you would need to compare the 7990 to the 690. They are both dual gpu cards. The Titan is a single gpu card and should be compared to the 7970 now and then the R9 290X once it is released.

Nobody unless they are extremely delusional has ever said the Titan is not overpriced. But the fact of the matter is that no matter how much it is overpriced, its performance can't be matched by another single gpu solution.

I don't judje others for what they spend. It is their problem. I just think for myself and realize how stupid it is to pay so much more for so little difference wink.gif
