30-32% for a Lighting 780. I don't count that as a typical 780 and neither should anyone else.

I am seeing AMD/Nvidia taking turns on being no1 GPU every release for a few generations already. Why should 290X be any diff. Please stop thinking ur TITAN is unbeatable for 2-3 generations, it isnt that great as what u think.

Who all people are you referring to? I have only seen 1 maybe 2 Titan owners state that. This card could very well be faster than the Titan. We shall know soon. thumb.gif

I am talking about the 780 dude not 2010rig in that post. Although hard to differentiate between the two points admittedly.

I somewhat disagree with that. Dirt 3 had the 7970 and 780 almost equal and that's completely ridiculous. That games skews the results. Likewise, a game having the 780 50% faster also skews the results.

For what it's worth, using 1920x1200 and the GTX 780 launch review numbers, it is 22.8% average and 21.3% median, with Sleeping Dogs, Skyrim, and Crysis as the single digit "outliers" on the AMD side, and Bioshock and Star Control 2 for Nvidia.

Edit: Fixed the numbers, and for 2560 it is 25.75% avg and 22.0% median.

My point was never about the numbers true or not just how you chose to separate the numbers. You alluded to AMD Evolved = AMD BIASed and yet you still had some of those biased in the other list.

I'll repeat what I already said, so perhaps you can understand it better.

Exactly, maybe I should've said that those 4 games heavily favor AMD cards. If I was to take out all the Gaming Evolved titles in that chart, I would've ended up with only 2 games.

Exactly. I never implied Gaming Evolved = AMD biased.

I never expected this much controversy.

But why should it be excluded? Everyone knows or should know Dirt 3 runs better on AMD hardware. If that is your primary game of choice, then it would be stupid to get an Nvidia card. All results are valid as far as I am concerned if you play all games or a select few. The numbers literally don't lie.

Really wish I could afford to buy some more cards and do another round of testing. Would love to get a pair of the R9's when they come out and compare with my Titans (and a couple 780's and 7970's for good measure)!

Huh? 780 on the first chart has 92 and 7970 has 70. That's 31% Second chart has the 780 at 94 and the 7970 at 71, that's 32%. 3rd chart also has the 780 32% faster and last one is 32% as well.

Yeah, I am doubtful outside of a golden 7970.

I know this is a super roundabout way to think about it but my sli 780's are a good 50% faster than my old sli 670's at least and considering the 7970 is only about 15-20% faster than the 670 that puts it right into the window of 25-30% slower than the 780. I again will say I realize this is a super roundabout way to look at it and its just anecdotal evidence so I'm not trying to claim that proves it's 30%, just saying my experience puts it right around there.
