Combining an APU with a discrete GPU is future of gamers thanks to AMD. I created an account to say this. The key why AMD doesn't continue to FX series is HSA. That's why I already think there will be no Athlon series with no GPU either.

What you guys don't understand that it won't be waste if you use your discrete GPU with an APU anymore. That's not because of Dual Graphics. That's because of HSA. Your GPU in APU will be used for computing in games or other stuff. Playstation 4 already uses HSA, XBox One uses custom but similarly thing. So it gonna be like this:

Central Processing Unit (CPU) - Will do single-threaded heavy tasks.
Parallel Processing Unit (PPU - Integrated GPU) - Will do multi-threaded tasks like particles in games.
Graphics Processing Unit (GPU - Discrete GPU) - Will do graphics, texturing etc..

That's why AMD focuses maximum 4 cores. If greater parallelism is needed, there is a GPU unit for it in APU.

AMD is working on HSA for dCPU and dGPU. It was suppose to start happening with Tahiti but it was never used, probably because AM3+ doesn't support it.

Scalar SSE2 vs Vector AVX
I fixed it for you.

Friendly reminder that in Gentoo I saw over 60% increase in LAME performance by recompiling for AVX/SSE4/etc in Gentoo on my FX 8350 and I saw a more than doubling of speed in Blender when recompiling.

Phoronix also finds massive gains in C-Ray when recompiling.

Friendly reminder that not only is Cinebench r11.5 compiled with ICC, but it ALSO uses Intel performance libraries like libguide40.dll.

In short, Cinebench is absolutely useless. By playing games with compilers I beat my friends 4.2ghz 3930k by 30% with my 5ghz FX 8350.

I really want to get hyped about this but an AMD employee posted this so I just can't. I'm also up to ~500% more interested in the CPU performance.

sounds awsome but hard to believe but if its true it could be the first platform that is truly gaming capable with onboard and an ideal candidate to replace my A10 in my ISK100

tbh i was expecting around a 7750 or slightly less due to DDR3 limitation but if it offers 7770 performance i be extremely happy

The problem is... Currently there aren't that many mobos out that will be more than Dual Graphics. I too have a 7790 and am waiting for the new chip to arrive. If I want Xfire, the UP4 board from Gigabyte looks good for that. thumb.gif

I therefore hope for working CF with midrange cards that would be great.

If this is legit, I'm pairing the fastest 65W APU with an ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+

To hell with being poor, I'm throwing the house outta' the window xD

We indeed need a new universal compiler run by neither of those 2 or we need a AMD to genuine intel patcher.

If that were possible then I wish I knew more so I could do it.

That seems to be the top candidate.

You guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment. 13 GCN compute units in an APU is extremely unlikely for obvious reasons.
