Editing to be more coherent. Does anyone use a vm in a linux box (mint in my case at the moment) to run windows 7 to run iTunes? I have been using this for a bit now with zero difficulty until today when I updated my phone to iOS7 this morning. Now linux can't mount the phone... iOS7 keeps asking me if I trust the computer I'm plugged into, hit trust and it just asks again in a loop. And if linux can't mount it then my windows vm can no longer see it.

If this is a snub to non apple users then I must say that this phone is my last piece of apple hardware ever. Will not buy into that type of system even though I had thought about it in the past. The sheer ego behind that kind of move rubs me the wrong way altogether. In a couple months I will be upgrading everything and I'm going either full linux / droid or I may attempt to tolerate windows 8 / droid but apple is history as far as I'm concerned. Can't help but wonder if this could be an anti-trust type of thing as well, if it's what I'm thinking it is.

Or is there some little trick I'm sposed to use now that I havn't found on google ?
