Battlefield 4 Required specs

I'm worried about my rig, it's getting a little old but still does the job...

My rig:
GTX 550Ti
Intel i3 3220 (Hopefully upgrading to a i5 3570k with a Noctua L9i)
6GB RAM @ 1600MHz
CX430 to run the rig

I'm not sure whether she'll hold up to the job or not, I have 2 Monitors, a 23" 1080 LG E2351, and a BenQ GL2055 20" 1600x900
I use the 1080p one for gaming and the 1600x900 as a secondary, for like my twitter or Facebook...

I'm not sure I will be able to run Bf4 of this, and I'm considering detaching my 1080p one for the PS4 I'm also getting and using it for that...
If you go into detail for what FPS I'll be expecting that would greatly appreciated.

The game is not released yet, it is another 9 days until the beta, so we cannot answer that question.
We can only guess. smile.gif

But a 550ti and i3 is not going to handle anything above low settings, imo, with decent FPS. (1920x1080 res)

But I'm just not that good at detecting if my system would run

My question is; what settings do you run at now, and what is your avg fps?

Your system will "run" ; but it may not run as "smooth" as you want. Also; the i3 processor you have already will struggle in Battlefield 3 especially in maps >30 people. So youll face that same problem in BF4.

Im sure you'll be able to run it at low/medium with no MSAA.

An i3 and a 550Ti would hold back your system. If your on a budget grab a FX 6300 and a 7950/7970, those cards are relatively cheap as of now. The i5 you want is 100$ more than the fx 6300. That 100$ could be put towards buying the mobo or even a better gpu.

You'd probably be able to run it on low. Your rig is pretty much the same as or even a bit better than what Dice have put as the minimum requirements (Your CPU > Minimum CPU posted by Dice + You have more RAM + Your GPU > Minimum CPU posted by Dice)

Not even at medium. A 550Ti is half the performance of my 650Ti. Even though the 660 is recommended I think the 660Ti would be the sweet spot!

The Minimum requirements is just for the game to start and that to at a much lower resolution close to 720p tongue.gif

Im pretty sure it will handle low or medium probably not averaging 60 but to the point where its playable.

Note playable =/= 60 fps @ 60hz smooth. Im assuming around 30-40 fps. Obviously with his i3 he'll receive a lot more drops than usual.

At low settings. I mean lowest settings. Maybe 30fps or so but the gameplay will not even be smooth. As soon as his cpu usage hits 100% load it will start to stutter and fps will drop badly causing gameplay to be unplayable.
