My old Toshiba SLi1 had covered vents and removing them shot the temps up on the GPU. I'd guess your assumption about static pressure is a good one.

I don't know if there is any undervolting software for your APU, maybe you could investigate that.

If you did open the vent, I'd recommend a good laptop cooler with a large fan.


**I actually have a strip of Velco where the screws were in my G73 were. When I game on it I take the whole panel off and cool directly with the laptop cooler. When I'm done, it is quickly and easily replaced.**
