fx 6300 running at 3792mhz . But its set at stock clocks?

Hi. I can't figure out why my new fx 6300 is running at 3792mhz. Long story short. Had a 1090t but had the parts for a second rig all but cpu and bought a fx6300. I took the fx chip to play with and overclock. i have a sabertooth mother board. When i put new chip in my core temp and my hardware monitor won't show me multiple core temps. only core temp works and just shows one core temperature. Besides the programs not showing core temps. cpu-z shows chip at 3792mhz... At first i thought it was doing this because i had my 1090t clocked to 3.8. so i pulled cmos battery and set things to defaults to make sure. That did nothing. So then i did a fresh install of windows and i pulled out cmos battery again. In the bios it shows that cpu 3.5ghz. and turbo clock to 4.1 or 4.2 whatever. Everything is set to auto. So i'm not sure why its doing this. nor can i figure out why my programs won't show multiple core temps. All in all its not a huge deal because i ran prime for awhile. around a hr and it didn't go over 36c and seems to work fine. But i still want to know why. I read somewhere that there is a update for windows 7. Not sure whats its about. i read something about a fx chip update. But i could be way off. Anybody have any ideas for me?

Disable AMP Master in your bios. That will fix it tongue.gif

Doh , good call. It was turbo. I was confused cause my 1090t was either at 3.2 or turbo 3.6. Nothing in between. Man i feel silly right now.

Is it fine now? Make sure you have APM Master disabled. The reason why it runs at 3.8Ghz with turbo on instead of 4.1Ghz is because APM is on. APM throttles your cpu and lowers it's clock speed. Is it running at 3.5Ghz on load or is the clock speed going lower than 3.5Ghz when cpu is on load?

I turned turbo off and it showed 3.5. Before when i had turbo on it stayed at 3.8 under no load or having a load. I still have to look into apm. I had to leave the house right after turning off turbo and seeing it at 3.5. Ill update soon when i get a chance. Ty for help.
