If it crashed to a Black Screen and the PC was still going but did not reboot requiring a hard reboot I would say videocard crash, but Insta reboot is more PSU or CPU/Mobo related 90% of the time.

I would check your CPU and Mobo for complete stability first. Last time I had random reboots while gaming the motherboard was bad.
well i had ny 2500k at 4.2 stable but i put it on stock. so far so good but my 4.2 OC was Rock Stable

If you the patience for it then you should let it run overnight, If the ram is the problem it will find it, otherwise it could be your hard drive, might have some bad sectors but i don't think that would cause all the reboots.

ok so after my pc shutdown again, i took out the GPU and so far it hasnt shutdown at all. played a few games on league and was amazed that i could play Amnesia: a machine for pigs on an HD3000.

so i guess ill RMA the GPU once i get back with Corsair about my current PSU's coil Whine

Are your VRM's getting adequate airflow?

Also, try lowering your OC to 4ghz. Then run Prime95, play some games, just whatever you normally do when this crash occurs then report back if the problem seems to be resolved, or if it crashes again.

define r4 with 2 140 intake fans and 212 EVO with 2 SP120's. case doesnt get even warm inside
i switched PCi slots for GPU to the second although its x8 instead of x16 to see if my slot could be faulty
though i would only be getting half the bandwidth i dont know if that would be a power factor to it or not

but i did some digging into google last night with people with this same prob lem and a person changed his psu and it stopped, though i did the same and it still does it but this psu could be faulty as well, it does have coil whine and its getting a lot louder when in use

also sometimes when gaming i get annoying stutters for 2 secs and i dont know why

Update. did a fresh install of OS ......and it still does it

*nother update*
so i went back to stock settings and so far it hasnt crashed
though my OC is stable could it be my mobo is starting to show its beating since i was push addition 1.2GHZ through it??

*update* at stock it still does it. just got a response from corsair and awaiting my shipping label email HOPEFULLY its still just a faulty PSU
