Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet2

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has one of these. I have really been kicking around the idea of getting a windows tablet, and giving the ipad to the woman. This is the only reasonably priced win 8 tablet with a full usb port, that would allow me to have removable storage and such. I already have a bunch of 64Gb thumbdrives is the reason that I am swinging this was. Wondering what your impressions of it are, as I do a lot of flying, and need something to help keep entertained, and the ipad isn't cutting it anymore. No removable storage, so I can only take so much with me.

Have you thought about buying an older used Windows tablet for ~$200?

Thought about it, but wanted to see what the new hardware was like for these. Also difficult to find one with a full sized USB ports. I used an android tablet with a UTG cale for a thumbdrive, but constantly had it come loose when I was in the middle of something.

A Core 2 Duo from 2008 is faster than the Atom CPU that the ThinkPad Tablet 2 has.

Wait till (if) they make a Thinkpad tablet 3 with Bay trail. The tablet is good, just lacks the performance.

I'm waiting for the HP split X2 to go on sale. 3rd gen I3, HD 4000, Slightly bigger than a normal tablet. Does come with detachable keyboard with a battery inside.

Too bad it doesn't have an Active Digitizer like many tablet PCs had years ago.

I ended up getting a Dell Venue 8 Pro, and it is a great tablet so far. It is really quick, and very snappy when switching applications and programs. The Bay Trail Z3740D is a nice processor. The only thing I could wish for is that the Venue 11 Pro was available. A bigger screen would be very nice.

If anyone has been hesitant to switch from an Ipad, this is just as fast as an ipad. I got the 64Gb version, and the USB 2 go cables work with this tablet to allow me to use a usb drive for extra storage. Love windows 8.1 on a touchscreen.

I even loaded Starcraft 2 on it just to see if it could run it. Did a great job.
