I replaced the cracked screen on my friend's Toshiba L855 a few days ago, and the new screen worked great for a few hours while I did software maintenance on it. Now that I gave the computer back to him, he says it turned on fine, he logged in, and after a minute it shut off completely. Now, it won't turn on at all. No BIOS beeps, nothing. The charge light is white with the charger connected. I had him take out the cmos battery to try to reset that but it didn't help.

Could the screen somehow cause this, or is it unrelated? Also, he is on a ship - could power fluctuations have fried something even though it's connected through a power strip? Could it not be fully charging even though the charge light is on if the voltage out of the socket is a bit low?
