No, I would have to say that iPhone users that upgrade make a significant portion of iPhone buyers. Not just from the 5, but from the 4S and the 4. Not to mention people who still owned the original or the 3GS. I know one of my friends still has his 3GS. He's definitely due for an upgrade. Not to discount anything from Apple's accomplishment. The iPhone is still a very well selling platform and attracts plenty of new buyers.

No, he brings up a very valid point. While I maingly use voice chat with my girlfriend, I know she texts almost everyone else. As do the majority of people using smartphones.
