massive increase in voltage required after 3.4Ghz

overclocking my Sig rig...@ 3.40Ghz, 1.23v is needed to stabilize the OC but @ 3.60Ghz, the voltage needed is 1.34v and this sends the temperature sky rocketing to 85C+ under P95 Large FFT

CPU T @ auto. current reading 1.30v
CPU PLL @ auto, current reading 1.50v

anything else i can do beside getting a better air/water cooler?

I don't know a solution but i have to say wow why so much for a super small bump o.o

Its actually not a small bump. Stock clocks for that chip is 2.4 Ghz. 3.6 is a 1200 Mhz increase almost a 70% overclock. It is just they way the chip is anything over 3.2 is going to need increasingly more voltage in large bumps.

Honestly i would personally consider investing money into a new cpu / pc becuase overclocking that one will reach it limits soon i guessing.
If not by thermal then by to much voltage but i'm not an expert at those chips at all, but if you really had to i guess Water is the only way.
