Need i5 3570 overclock help!

Thread Starter
I have the i5 3570 non k and a gigabyte z77-d3h board. I found out that I could increase my multiplier (even though the cpu is supposed to be locked). I went from 34-35 because i didn't want to go overboard and break the cpu. Could I actually go higher if i got a better heatsink like a zalman because right now I'm on the default stock cooler.

The non-K 3570 has a limited amount of multiplier overclocking available. It should be possible to raise the multiplier by +4. The Intel OEM heatsink should be adequate for this depending on your computer case and room temperature. A better cooler will not make any difference unless your CPU is overheating and reaching the thermal throttling temperature which isn't until 105C.
