ZOWIE partners with Quake Legend COOLLER. - Page 4

COOLLER used WMO and switched to Razer because of contracts bla bla.

AFAIK he is retired? He is a good ambassador, sure A lot of people know him and that is good marketing for Zowie. Oh and COOLLER used to have accel in Quake. Hope Zowie doesn't add that as a feature to their mice =)

Huano-switches' "stiffness":

A few months ago I did some tests. I switched the shell - the left- and right-click top shell to be exact - from my AM with the AM-FG's and it resulted in much more stiffer clicks. I could not click as fast as with the FG's shell. (I don't own an AM anymore, so I'm not able to do further testing, sorry).

Judging from my tests, it's not only the Huano switches, but it also has something to do with the AM's shell not being as light or "flexible" as the AM-FG is.

I haven't been able to figure out what exactly it is, but as I mentioned, the FG's shell feels "lighter" or more "flexible". If there's someone out there with both the AM-FG and AM, give the tests I did a try and let me know what you think.

Man, Cooller is like my idol, I have to buy this mouse!

Damn man put your pants back on. biggrin.gif

And no the AM shape isn't like the WMO. Like all mice in images/video they may appear similar but they often feel drastically different when in one's hand. AM/FK are skinny where it matters to certain grips.

Anyways interesting news but I doubt they'll change the way they handle the switches/sensor if they make a new mouse. It will just be a different shape most likely.

Well, I have the AM and it looks like the WMO to me, but the last time I held a WMO in my hands was probably 6 years ago, or longer...

I'd bet they just use the same PCB again and put it in a new shell, but I'm fine with that. They have at least made minor improvements from AM-FG to FK, like the polling rate being more stable (not jumping up to 1000 Hz when set to 500). Maybe they improve that a bit more. I can live with the Huanos, they are not perfect for semi autos, but doable. As I'm not really using semis that much it's ok.
