Questions on Watercooling GTX 680s

Hello All,

Some of you may have read, I'm hoping to upgrade to X79 and I'll be purchasing a 2nd GTX 680 4GB.

I will have 2 different cards:
  • Palit Jetstream GTX 680 4GB - 254mm Long
  • KFA2 GTX 680 EX OC - 270mm Long

I'm asking what is the best block I can get that will fit both blocks, as in, I don't particular want different waterblocks for it.

My CPU Block will be the EK-Supremacy Acrylic Top so I'd like (if possible) either Acrylic Blocks or Black Blocks since I'm doing a Blue/Black Theme.

I know having 2 different cards may present a issue, that's why I'm asking for community help.

Also, another quick question, this may sound stupid but I've never watercooled cards before:
  • What are the Watercooled SLI Bridges used for?
  • Do I need one?

I hope the community can answer these questions and help me.

Right,

So I got a message back from EKWB today.
Quote:
Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting EK Support.

The videocards are already listed in our coolingconfigurator, with all compatible blocks we have at disposal.
In the link below you will find a list of blocks, we have compatible with your videocards.

Palit Jetstream GTX 680 4GB Edition
http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist?gpu_gpus=731

KFA2 GeForce GTX 680
http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist?gpu_gpus=683

We are sorry, but we don't have fullcover waterblock compatible with KFA2 GeForce GTX 680 videocard.
We have only VGA universal waterblock compatible with KFA2 GeForce GTX 680 videocards.

If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Lep pozdrav, Kind regards, MFG!

So unfortunately, EKWB don't make the waterblock required for the KFA2.

I emailed KFA2 to see if they know of any block that might fit.

If not, looks like I'll be using a Full Cover Acrylic Block on the Palit and a universal on the KFA2, but I don't wanna do that if I can help it.

Next port of call.

Find out with the SLI Bridge links do...and whether I need one.

I have 2 gtx 680s watercooled but they are the same geforce ftw 4gb. The SLI watercool bridge you speak of is not needed, I have my loop as pump>gpu 1>rad>cpu>gpu2>rad>Res>

It's mainly for aesthetics, but I guess it does save the length of tubing your pump would have to cycle the water through. My gpus are within 1-2 degrees of each other.
