undervolting a Sempron 145

Thread Starter
I have a HTPC in my bedroom that currently has a Sempron 145 in it. I was able to unlock it and it appears stable until I restart the computer and
goes back to default settings even with UCC on. I am thinking of undervolting and underclocking it with hopes the 2nd core will remain stable even
on reboot.

Basically I have used CPU-Z and undervolting it to .925 volts and running it at 1.4GHZ still shows its running at 68w compared to 82w unlocked and at stock(2.7 GHZ). Is this reading accurate or
is their a program out there to show the real tpd after undervolting?

I am probably going to go with a Athlon II X3 once I sell some old parts in the garage but just wanted to get some suggestions in the meantime.

CPU-Z is useless for knowing the CPU voltage. An Kill-A-Watt meter is the cheapest way find out the voltage. Are you using K10stat? I did something like your trying to my Athlon x4. Stock uses 1.04v but I underclock and undervolted it to 1.3GHz @ .9125v. I don't know how many test it did but it did last 45 minutes of Prime95. She doesn't even need the fan on the stock HSF on those settings! lol. From my Kill-A-Watt meter (I don't know how accurate it is... but at least I get an idea) the system's power consuption is 62 watts (75 during 95) with two case fans running at 40%.

Your power numbers should be better than that. I hope this helps.
