Best bang-for-buck Windows tablet?

Thread Starter
So, being a Windows 8 user, and the fact that my tablet blew up and it would seem more feasible to just part out whatever is left that works (frame, front glass, and various PCBs). I personally find Android tabs to be a bit boring to be perfectly honest, and am willing to try a Windows one now.

I know it will support all of the M$ Office products, which are helpful for class, but does it support anything else? (I know RT doesn't really support as much as what would be on the
Surface Pro, which is a full OS system (isn't it?).

Anyways, Ideally, I am looking for a Windows tablet that is under $500 and is not crap (I.E. The Iconia, which looks good but lacks decent cameras and other hardware). Another huge plus would be support of some sort of digitizer pen (not a rubber capacitive stylus). But really the only ones I can find are the Surface Pro and the Lenovo Tablet 2, both of which are out of my price range by a lot.

So, anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Edit:
The Lenovo Tablet 2 miggght work if I can find it refurbed somewhere and save some money on it..

Used X200T or T5010 but they're convertibles if you can live with that. You want new+stylus+cheap the Galaxy Note 8 if you're not picky with OS. Digitizer pen + Full OS + new is probably not going to be cheaper than MS Surface Pro. Not a whole lot of options out there if you want digitizer pen support + Full OS.

For Office Suite based work, I think this is the best value: Transformer T100

$349/32gb, Windows 8.1, Office & Keyboard dock are free. With Quad core Baytrail it will be fairly smooth. The 64gb version is $399. No Pen support or Camera(you can connect a web cam via usb) but the price imo is too good to pass up.

Those convertibles are only in my price range if they are old C2D architecture, which albeit is not too terrible, but certainly not something that would be suitable for several more years.

This one seems more appealing than a majority of the ones ive found for sale.

While I am reluctant to buy another Transformer (considering mine went out in a blaze of glory), the fact that the dock is free does help the price considerably, I paid $110 for the TF101 dock, which is now useless to me and will soon go up for sale.

So, Windows 8.1 doesn't come out till next month doesn't it? How will that affect the release date, if it hasn't been released already?
Nevermind, apparently I can't read xD

And it is not RT, correct?

And I assume Atom has improved by leaps and bounds since the netbook craze? (I had an acer that could hardly check my email once)

Also, not trying to be a post whore over here but.

Say if I were to purchase another Android tab (say a Note 8) for example, what good drawing/illustration programs are available for it? The reason I was leaning on a Win device with a pen is because it has a larger application support base. I have been looking at Photoshop and SAI Tools, both of which are Win/OS X based.
