Sennheiser HD 598 Help.

Thread Starter
Looking for decent gaming "FPS" and music quality. I'm stuck on either getting a Asus Xonar Essence STX or a Fiio e10. I have no clue what to do considering everyone is arguing with each other to much on Head-FI.org to the point they have just ignored my question. What i have caught from the arguing is that some people think Virtual sound is overrated and that open headphones should give you Positional and directional audio. What do you guys think?

I don't get it. You own a 598 and you want to buy an STX or Fiio or you are looking to buy a 598 along with an STX or Fiio or you're looking for a recommendation to buy a headset and amp/soundcard???? Can't read your thoughts. biggrin.gif

I would grab the e10 if I were you. you can use it with any audio device.

Sorry I thought the e10 had USB in and line in.

The fiio is usb and easily moved from pc to pc.

The STX goes in a pcie slot.

This is going to be all the difference that will matter, unless you had both already.

Pretty much, the title asks for 598 help then the OP asks for recommendation. Pretty confusing, we're not mind readers here.

Sorry i wrote this at 3am. I don't have the 598's yet but they interest me. I'm pretty much asking if i should get an external amp/dac or soundcard for gaming and music.
