Is it too much? : Powercolor 7870 PCS+ EZ 90 Degrees at full load

I am using a Powercolor 7870 PCS+ EZ , which i bought about 2 months ago.

I am using it at stock speed. Under Battlefield 3.0 , the GPU heats up to 90 degrees. But the GPU fan is at %70. 90 degrees is a lot, but can we say its safe because if it wasnt, the GPU fan would be at %100 ?

Btw, i have a Zalman Z5 Plus case with the default 2 fans + 1 exhaust fan.

What do you think?

ramping up fan speed to 100% might get you 2-5 degrees of your temps.

Make sure everything is dust free and possibly try reapplying the tim.

If you have room for fans that will be either right in front or next to the card that might help as well.

At %70 i get enough noise already..

I have a dust filter in my case. What do you mean "tim" ?

The closest fan i have to the card is right below the standard HDD location in the case. Thats far away from the GPU you know:

By the way , on these websites, i read that the users of Myst edition get the same temperature like me. Myst edition is very alike the EZ edition:

By "tim" he probably means the thermal paste. Could easily drop your temps by 10-20 degrees. (MX-4 is a good choise) thumb.gif

Try undervolting your GPU. These Tahiti LE chips have high stock volts. I had the same temperature issue like you had on stock volts and cooler. What are your stock volts btw? You can check them on Sapphire Trixx for example.

Why not. There's no "warraty void if removed" stickers and the whole thing will be done in 10 minutes. But if you're not comfortable with taking the GPU apart you can always return it to the retailer.

My warranty didn't get voided when I removed the cooler from my VTX3D card. (VTX3D belongs to TUL corporation, which is a part of Powercolor too)
I RMAd my VTX3D card with changed TIM, and got my money back though wink.gif Just don't do any physical damage to the PCB. Otherwise you are in trouble tongue.gif

Coree: 1) Can i use Sapphire Trixx safely on my Powercolor? 2) Nah i am really bad at such stuff, i would burn the card or something. tongue.gif

3) GPU caps viewer says : VDDC MAX 1.256 V

Hepokatti2332,Coree : Can i just use like this because it has 2 year warranty?. If anything happens, they would give me a new one

Why do i have to do something to reach lower tempatures on something i just bought new? It's not second hand!. I have a good cooling system in my case already.
