How does not hyping it up hurt AMD? When Kaveri releases people will be intrigued as hell like you are and buy one anyways. AMD being silent about things, is
a good thing. Especially if Steamroller cores turn out to be really good, it will shock the market.
Intrigued? What's going to happen is I'm going to wait, complain about how AMD sucks at being transparent, see the reviews and benchmarks when Kaveri finally comes out, most likely be disappointed, and sit on my 2500k for another 2 generations. I suppose if it was worth hyping, they would have done so already. But all they've done is talk fluff about HSA a few times.
Oh and people will be intrigued? I don't know if you've noticed but AMD's basically been forgotten by mainstream consumers. For example, they've done nothing to promote Jaguar and look where it is now. Basically nowhere.
