Update: I ordered the Asus VG248QE today from Best Buy. I ended up getting it for $190 after the discounts and store credits I had. Can't beat that!

Thanks again for all the opinions!

I'll update with my experiences this weekend after I log a few hours on the screen smile.gif

you wont regret it. Once i went 120hz, i never looked back. Have fun with your new toy!

I prefer 120hz but you are getting a second 780... so go for 1440p.

A single card handles my 120hz needs. No need for two 780's at 1080p.

edit: Too late. Oh well, enjoy. Welcome to the 120hz club

120Hz is amazing. I prefer it to 1440p, and if he wants ultra, he'll need a second card for 120Hz.

There are always small settings you can tweek to achieve your desired frame rate, besides, do you need to have a CONSTANT 120? I play witcher 2 without uber and it runs a solid 110fps. The extra 10 won't make a difference to me.

You could probably do a solid 120hz at 1440p with 2-780's if the scaling is good.

This is pretty much what I was worried about. A lot of games will require a couple cards to keep the minimums framerates under control. I want these two cards to hold me over until the 2nd iteration of Nvidia's 20nm GPUs.

I think that two 780s with a 144hz monitor should keep me happy for 1.5-2 years.... until I the new cards come out and I get that upgrade bug again tongue.gif

Lol that monitor in New Zealand costs $550 USD. I'm half tempted to pick one up during my trip to SF and carry it back home.

$550?!?! That's outrageous! One reason I am glad to live in the USA.

Although the reasons I'm not super happy to live here seem to be increasing constantly tongue.gif
