Looking for a new laptop for work (and play)

Thread Starter
Hi all, want to upgrade my work laptop to something that is much faster and can handle some gaming while I'm out on the road working. Thanks in advance for the help.

1. What is your budget?

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15.6 (maybe 17.3")

3. What screen resolution do you want?

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
It will be used mainly as my office PC but I take along with me to jobsites, will not use much without being plugged in.

5. How much battery life do you need?
3-5 hrs is plenty

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop?
If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Yes, would like to have medium-high settings while playing. Don't need extremely high settings. Looking at Dota 2 and FF14 ARR as the two games that take up the majority of my time right now.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Need to have outlook, excel, word, internet browser all open at same time. Will also be doing minor auto CAD work.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
250GB is min but 500GB is plenty. Would love to get a SSD but not a deal breaker as I can always upgrade this myself.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
Doesn't matter to me

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
2-3 years

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
I really don't need one, if it has a DVD-R drive that is a bonus but willing to get an external drive. Only use my current drive once every few months.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I don't really care about brands, just looking for good bang for my buck.

13. What country do you live in?

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
I would like to be able to hook up 2 external monitors to it while at my office. Rather not get windows 8 if possible, windows 7 is preferred. Don't need a touch screen.

Let me know if any more info would help out.

Definitely go with a Clevo for that sort of money,

http://www.pcspecialist.com is what I would recommend but they are in the UK, see if you can get a similar site in the US

17.6" Vortex IV LE is pretty much the nuts in your budget
