Intel PD-820? Opinion? - Page 2

Vote for the D805 here, (or D915 if you want a slightly cooler chip).

Mine's lapped, and with a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, it went to 3.6Ghz @stock volts. 0.5v more for 3.8Ghz dual prime stable. Temps were ok with the F7P, dual prime loaded maxed at about 60/65 IIRC. Since I got the Tuniq Tower 120, with the fan at 720rpm (silent) they've gone down to 32C idle and 49C dual prime loaded.

I've 3dmark03'd it at 4.1Ghz with about 1.55v and got to 4.4Ghz screenshot stable.

Very impressive for a chip that cost me £40 tbh

Ooh plus, choosing the Pentium D route allows you to spend on DDR2 ram now, and use it in the future - DDR ram for the 3700+ system would be a complete waste of money.
