Need user feedback on Roccat Kone Pure - Page 3

Thread Starter
Yeah so far in my searches Kone XTD is the only laser mouse that is coming out as mostly complaint-free. It will be my costliest mouse so far. Hope Roccat mice are more durable than Roccat mousepads. the Sota pad nicely complemented the G500 in the sense that both had similarly terrible lifespan.

I got sent the Kone Pure instead of the Kone Pure Optical by mistake this week and tried it out.

The lift-off distance itself was totally fine. But every time I hovered over the pad, the sensor would freak out, which is as expected on cloth, but it did so on hard, dark surfaces as well.

What do you mean "freak out"? The cursor disappeared or something?

Nah, it would just malfunction and point down or jitter heavily.

Hey dude I saw g700s in Junglee site for 5.2k rs
http://www.junglee.com/Logitech-G700s-Rechargeable-Gaming-910-003584/dp/B00BFOEY3Y
pretty good offer since the mouse is itself 4.8k in USA without tax and shipping

I bought the Kone Pure about a month ago on sale for $50 and I don't have this problem at all after configuring the mouse and lift off distance for my pad. The only time I got jitters and spastic movements were when the lift off distance was turned off and the mouse hadn't been calibrated yet. I play with the lift set to low and the mouse tracks better than any I've tested over the last couple months of trial and error mouse purchases. I'm someone who constantly picks up and moves my mouse when playing FPS games due to low sensitivity, and the cursor won't even react unless the mouse is flat against my pad. The customization in the software is what really makes this mouse awesome. I will admit that I wasn't a fan of the slippery coating at first, but after about a week of use, the rubber becomes much more grippy and overall the mouse feels amazing. My girlfriend and I both picked one up after testing it and both fell in love with it. thumb.gif

[Edit] As far as the supposed positive acceleration goes, I play with a 40-50cm/360 and have tested pretty extensively. As far as I can tell after doing 360 tests with various speeds, if there is any acceleration, it's extremely minuscule and definitely shouldn't stop anyone from buying the mouse if interested. I can't speak for players who use lower sensitivities in the 80+ cm range, but I have no problems with my current settings.
