How reliable is an HTC desire Z (or some other second hand QWERTY phone)

Thread Starter
So I'm looking to get a "new" phone. As I'm short on cash and new QWERTY phones are quite rare now days, I'm looking to get a second hand one.

The HTC Desire Z looks like a good candidate as there seams to be plenty of them on the market but I have heard some complain about the hinge getting loos over time. Any other issue with this particular model?

I'v looked on other possibilities as well but its pretty slim pickings as I'm in Finland and as such would really like the phone to have a nordic keyboard (ö ä å)

Nokia N900: Great but chances of finding one that is not priced to the roof is slim
Nokia N7: runs symbian need I say more?
HTC pro 7: Looks good but I'm not sure about windows 7.8
Motorola Droid 1-4: Yeah no chance of finding one of thees
Motorola milestone: Better availability but still rare and usually a bit more then I like to spend

So yeah. Thoughts on the Desire Z? Suggestions for other possible phones to keep an eye out for?
It doesn't need to be super modern or fast as long as its good enough for internet browsing and other semi-demanding stuff.

Why not just find good deals on stuff you already have around?

I got a bad samsung epic, the battery life was terrible, and evo shift was very bad as well the touchscreen was messed up.

If you want one with a keyboard, why not consider BB? They have very good keyboards, and don't die easily.
