Should I upgrade my Intel PC or rebuy it from scratches?

Hey, guys, I want to know if I should upgrade my Intel PC or rebuy it.

Here's my specs before I go on.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper Plus 212
Mobo: ASUS P8Z68-V LX
RAM: Kingston 8GB DDR3 1333 Mhz (PC3 10600)
HDD: Western Digital 1TB 5400 RPM
GPU: Twin Frozr MSI GTX 560 ti 1GB
Case: Cooler Master Storm Enforcer
PSU: Corsair/Cooler Master (Don't remember which one) 600W 80+ Bronze

What I am planning to do is Video Game's Development, Gaming, Animation, Web-Design and maybe Audio Editing.
Pretty much heavy multitasking. No, I am not trying to start a Music Production but more of like making musics and sounds for my games.

I don't know which hardware I should upgrade or rebuy it from scratches.

I do have an idea, but I am not sure if it is worth it.

OS: Same
CPU: Intel Core i7 umm latest one or i7 2600K
CPU Cooler: Same
Mobo: Upgrade it that can have multiple PCI-E slots
RAM: Either same or upgrade it to 12GB/16GB RAM considering RAMS are cheap nowadays.
HDD: Samsung Pro 250GB SSD, same 1TB HDD and maybe 2TB HDD
GPU: Probably upgrade it to 7970
Case: Either same or upgrade it to Full Tower Case
PSU: Probably upgrade it to 750W PSU that can support SLI/Crossfire not saying I'll be buying a SLI/Crossfire, but it is worth having a PSU that can support it.

Video Game's Development, Games, Web Design and Animation, I know their requirements, so I am not a big concern of a specific specs and in fact they don't require a horsepower PC.

Audio Editing, I am not an entirely sure.

If ANYONE has a build idea for me, let me know.
My budget, umm, preferably as low as possible considering I don't know an exact budget that I wanted. Obviously, I don't want it to cost my arm and leg for it.

That's a pretty decent system. The biggest boost would come from swapping out that GTX 560 Ti for something faster and putting in an SSD. Extra ram could help but its not that important. I wouldn't waist money on swapping out stuff besides that.

If your gonna be doing alot of video editing and things, maybe sell the 2500k for a 2600k or 2700k. Switch out the gpu for a 7970 or 770, 780, but that would be all that (from my perspective) you would need to do.

Would there be any difference to go for a newer i7 such as Ivy Bridge, Haswell or Ivy Bridge-E?

If you are planning on doing animation/video editing, etc., then yes, there would be a considerable difference in performance between your 2500k, and heck, even a 2700k. The difference between your 2500k and something like a 4770k would be considerable.

I'd say go with Haswell, unless you absolutely want to go IvB-E in order to go for a six core chip (yolo!).

You'd also benefit from upgrading your GPU. And if that PSU is the one I'm thinking of (Cooler Master 600w GX-lite) then I'd look at upgrading that before pretty much anything as that is a pretty damn bad PSU (no offense). Its not even capable of supplying the actual power that it is rated for, just like its 750w brethren.

Only one mid range PSU i will recommend higher then the others

Unless you want a high end one

Oh, I mean comparing between i7 2600k to other 3 i7 Gens not i5 2500k to i7, lol.

Swap out the GPU for a 770 or one of AMD's new cards. This immediately will give you the biggest boost. Your next option is to O/C your CPU to get more life out of it.

THen hold off for 7-8 months then upgrade.
