micro-transactions in a MMO are a given these days...even if not officially supported. However, GTA5 isn't really a MMO...is it? I know there is only 16 players on a map, but it isn't persistent is it? There will be a point where the game is done and you would want to start over right? If buy cars or clothes do I get to keep them on the next play through?

Rockstar makes it sound like it will be a persistent world. It sounds like it's going to be completely different from the single-player experience.

*Grand Theft Auto Online is going to be something brand new for us: a fully realized and living world for multiple players that will continue to grow and take shape over time.

They also plan to consistently support GTA Online with new content (whether it's free or paid, I don't know) being released regularly. They've also mentioned making your own content so modding might be a possibility for multiplayer as well?

I guess I was just expecting co-op play out of it...it will be interesting to see how this develops.

I know they have talked about creating your own race tracks and missions...I don't think it will be modding though. If we want more cars or hair style we will probably have to by them in a DLC.

Yeah, I kinda forgot that it's not out on PC yet so they probably didn't mean modding. tongue.gif

As for having to purchase new content, we'll just have to wait and see.

THIS!! Maybe not the 100k though.

Honestly I work 50-60 hours a week and make excellent money doing so. I don’t have 4-5 hours a night to get all the cool stuff in all the new games, crap I hardly have an hour a night. If I'd like, I wouldn’t mind paying money to catch up to some of my friends that have more ingame money than me. I don’t see that as being foolish at all. If I want to pay a little more to get a little ahead then let me. I'm not paying more to beat people in any way...

The feature for GTA Online in GameInformer, showed it's a completely different world, you create your own character by choosing your parents, not how you want him to look. You choose the background for the character and go on your way.
