lol what's the purpose of playing the game and earning cash if you're gonna unlock everything with your credit card.

Pretty pointless way to play the title, even more pointless that the developer is urging players to do so. But they're in the business of making money, so we can't really blame em.

PS: I wonder how this is gonna pan out for PC alongside the modding community.

Same here, was going to be day one purchase for me on PC, but now I am going to wait for it to hit the < $20 price with any and all planned DLC.

I will not support any game that has planned paid DLC of any type as I feel that when I purchase a game I want the entire game that I paid for.

Exactly, I choose not to support several corporations based on their previous actions and activities, as it's my money and I will choose to support corporations that aren't out to nickle and dime me.

Microtransactions are just a means to make money with the consoles. I dont blame them. Milk the cow until its dry.

Modding in the PC community opens up a lot of workarounds. When PC comes out and somebody develops "that mod" to spawn anything and everything (if you played GTAIV multiplayer you know it very well), this entire microtransactions issue, if and especially for the PC version, becomes moot.

I mean think about it. GTA5 single player by itself is well worth the 60 price tag. With that though you are getting a psuedo MMO for absolutely free that will add thousands of hours of playtime probably. I mean I'm not sure how people expected them to pay for the upkeep of that if there was no sub fee or cash shop so to speak.

I mean the devs have to have some way to get some cash flow. If we expect them to keep the games running and stuff and right?

I was thinking along these lines, excellently put.

These microtransactions don't give you anything you can't already get by playing the game. They even said subsequent content updates will be free.

Paying for digital content that you already paid for when you bought the game seems like the stupidest thing you can do, but hey it's your money not mine.

Time is money and for some people their time is far more valuable than others. For those that want to hop on for a couple hours one day a week vs playing for hours every day this is where micro transactions allow them to do that while still getting to experience the same content and abilities without the time invested.

I know, I work 50-60 hour work weeks and can still find time to complete games without spending money on stuff achieved from playing the game, (takes the fun out of the game).

i remember in GTA III you got money just for blowing up cars. when i get GTA i don't think getting money will be all too hard with out paying IRL money.
