Phoebe, it sounds so ominous in a good way, the evil sister of Phobos.

I like how you guys already compare it to Titan, its price doesnt have anything to do with performance anyway. Also there is card called GTX 780? That is like 10% slower than Titan and it costs in here Finland 619e (reference model), AMD R9-290X in the other hand is gonna be for sure 599e minimum in here (something like 599-649e is for sure gonna be its final price in here). And what have seen from those slides, its performance is little slower in Firestrike than on stock 780, which is quite underwhelming.

Those also who are saying that Firestrike is not optimized for Nvidia.... AMD won on their 7970/7950 the GTX 680/670 because they have better compute performance and Firestrike uses that a lot.

You guys are simply asking too much from AMD new chip which is like 30% smaller than GK110 chip.

I for one am sick of the high priced enthusiast cards from Nvidia. Almost bought titan and thankfully that didn't work out. What happened to the days of 399.99 top of the line enthusiast cards?

My first top of the line card was 6800 Ultra @ $500. They've mostly been $500+ except for the GTX 285 iirc.

They claim to have 39% more transistors. That's quite impressive and hype-free, provided they didn't flat out lie.

Are you an AMD fanboy again? I swear you hop over the fence so many times i don't know if it's sarcasm or a legitimate statement from you.

A stock 7970 isn't very far off from a stock GTX780... if you think an improved GCN architecture with ~2800 cores, 44 ROPs and a 512bit bus won't demolish a stock 780 then i have bad news for you. If the rumored specs are legitimate this thing will run over stock GK110 offerings including the titan, the only thing that remains to be seen is how well they overclock because i'm sure the power draw will be huge much higher than GK110 that's for sure.

Mantle will be exciting for those hardcore amd gamers on bf4, i only played bf3 for like a total of 10 hours on multiplayer, so it isnt as exciting for me, what i am excited for is if it takes off and gets widely accepted how it will effect other games

now, on to how the r9 290x overclocks and its maximum overclock potential in benchmarks, now thats something im interested in, my titans need a bit of competition, my 7970s and 780s just dont compare devil.gif

also, thinking the titan will EOL at $1k usd aswell since nvidia will probably gouge it to the very end, then drop the 780s price to compete with 290x lol
